Maintenance Supervisor

Days: 8:00am to 4:30pm
Wage: $36 – $38 an hour (6 Month Contract)

General Responsibility
- Occupational Health and Safety – Champion highest possible safety standards for work environment of maintenance work force. Implement sustainable change to avoid or mitigate high risk work situations. Promote strong safety culture, enforcing all safety guidelines and ensuring compliance under legislation and Corporate requirements
- Quality Workmanship – Ensure the maintenance team is executing day to day maintenance activities to quality service standards
- Cost Control – Understand and supervise conflicting demands of cost minimization and maximization of plant availability. Maximize efficiency and productivity of resources and economical sourcing of materials and services.
- Customer Service – Respond to requests from internal stakeholders with strong customer service mindset; Understand impacts of incidents, or causes of potential incidents, on our ability to service our external customers and implement solutions while maintaining strong communication with internal team.
- Department Leadership – Create a high performance environment for the department’s Maintenance team; provide leadership coaching and technical direction of assigned maintenance staff.
- Preventive Maintenance– Oversee all aspects of the Preventive Maintenance Program the site; Develop effective maintenance performance targets based on field inputs, performance reviews, audits and failure
- Investigations – Develop and supervise master maintenance schedule and ensure implementation of maintenance routines accordingly in maintenance system/e-maintenance.
- Engineering Support – Work jointly with engineering to assure all requested projects are managed according to expectation through the implementation of cost effective and efficient solutions.
- Corrective Maintenance Process – Apply engineering principles to provide technical solutions for the site to resolve equipment failure or performance degradation; provide recommendations to sites based on tracking and analysis of equipment breakdowns (i.e. failure mode and effects, breakdown duration, high cost breakdowns, repetitive breakdowns, etc.).
- Maintenance System Master Data and Spares Control – Drive the implementation of a detailed maintenance master data system to permit better decision making and more efficient equipment replacement (i.e. functional locations, equipment numbers and bill of materials for new or transferred plant equipment); Work jointly with Procurement and sites to improve maintenance materials management (i.e. warehousing, spares management, vendor managed inventory, etc.)
- Maintenance Reviews/Planning – Develop and lead regular maintenance-centered plant audits/sustainability reviews of the site; Responsible for preparing 5 year plan and annual budget; Responsible for preparing plant shutdown plans.
- Training/Coaching – Aid in implementing maintenance-specific training programs Maintenance Execution – Act as effective liaison with all levels of staff at DC sites to ensure that maintenance work is carried out as planned; Lead the maintenance workforce to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Technologist an asset
- Proven track record in supervising large maintenance projects
- Proven direct involvement with Maintenance teams
- Knowledge of maintenance-related principles, terms and procedures
- Ability to work in an indoor environment, with frequent exposure to heat, cold, dust and noise
- Highly motivated and self-directed capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and diverse software programs
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently
- Proactive and participative leadership
- Experience working with Millwrights and Electricians
